There are pieces missing, holes for things are the wrong size, screws are too small for the holes, instructions are wrong, pieces are mislabeled, and the list goes on.

However, with that said, my husband is very resourceful and he can easily figure it out enough to make things work.
So does it work? Yes.
Did he enjoy the build even with all the frustration? Yes.
He rates it at 3 stars due to all the issues, but says if the issues get fixed it would easily be a 5 star review.

Very frustrating build. Sure I made mistakes and had to break it down and redo a number of times. But Step 4 calls for 3x10 mm screws - none and none listed in the Components section. Same with the Motor Mount Screws. No Clip 6 for the body assembly. This is just sloppy. The good news is the motor runs, the car moves and the steering responds. Most of the screws were just not right for the application. Silly that the slots for the velcro to hold the battery are narrower than the width of the velcro. Come on guys, you had one job! But as a build, what should have been fun was a constant frustration. I am trying to figure out how to over come the Clip 6 issue however.

Video and written instructions are poorly mated. In the video assembly some of the parts where left out. In the written assembly it is difficult to comprehend and the pics are not that clear. It took way too many hours to assemble. Which caused a lot of aggravation. Also wish the gears were made of metal. Other than that it is a great gift.
It is fast. Learn to drive before racing.

My wife bought this for me. The car is excellent quality, but the plastic gear continues to get shredded by the motor because the motor gear is metal and the transmission gear is plastic AND it does not line up correctly. I called and mancrates did send a new gear and parts, and I installed a spacer and made a few other modifications and still it’s not 100%. The car needs a metal gear for the transmission. Or the plastic needs to better align and probably be bigger.

I was very excited it’s start assembling the RC car kit until i got the making the bottom front control arm and could not for the life of me find the correct piece. I went to piece catalog in the intrusction manual and learned i had a duplicate sheet but they did not include the proper sheet with all of the other control arm pieces. Now i am left with a unassimilable kit and wasted time. I was very excited. I hope this doesn’t happen often.

-4 instances of screw holes too large for the screws they were supposed to house
-the motor plate was entirely too dense for the tiny mounting screws supplied, consistent stripping/snapping of screw heads
- motor gear and great gear did not mesh adequately
- incorrect/subpar instructions. Parts are either mislabeled or the instruction steps leave out important information (I.E. do not fully tighten the suspension binding posts or the suspension will be too tight to function, you should probably connect the electronics BEFORE you place the B5 piece, otherwise you will be trying to wedge your hands between two of these delicate wooden pieces to connect everything.)
- multiple reviews saying the wooden pieces are strong enough, I had my doubts while building and handling the pieces, but they were confirmed on the first “test” (when it tells you to in the instruction booklet) when the car bounced off my couch and the front suspension assembly snapped off with a portion of the body.

On the other hand, this thing (had it worked properly) is pretty torque-ey and there are apparently people who had little to no trouble with it based on the other reviews. Personally, I had too many times where I had to improvise just to make things work as intended.

Bought this for my husband for Valentine’s Day thinking it would be a fun thing to put together and run. He is very unsatisfied the instructions are vague or misleading. As he was putting it together he kept saying this frame isn’t going to hold up and he was right. He ran it maybe 1 minute before the frame broke. No he didn’t run into anything was just driving it inside. Wouldn’t recommend this.

Instructions are vague. At first I was like, how cool, they intentionally left key steps out for me to solve so I can feel ‘manly’, but after ripping it apart multiple times because of vague instructions, my patience was gone.
The gear drive didn’t line up, so the drive train didn’t work properly. The steering mechanism was quacky, and I meticulously assembled it, nothing was binding. I’m mechanically minded, and a skilled woodworker, this could be a fun project if it wasn’t made out of flimsy plywood, had clear instructions, and had better quality components. Do not buy this crate.
